Is 3 weeks enough time to train for a 5k?

There’s a 5k on June 15th that I’m thinking about doing. I’ve been wanting to run a 5k for awhile now but idk if I have the balls to do it. I can run a mile straight usually in around 9 minutes, give or take. Is it realistic to train for a 5k in 3 weeks? Any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated! :)

You know what bugs me?

When my friends try to give me health and fitness advice. My friend called me out yesterday saying that I don’t eat healthy. I was like wtf?! I eat small portions several times a day, watch my caloric intake, only drink water, plus exercise like a mofo. She also said that you can’t eat cheese because it turns straight into fat on your body. Oh the ignorance of some people..sigh.

I’m baaaack!

I got back from vacation late last night. I’ve been trying to upload some pics but tumblr won’t let me :/

Oh well. Anyways, I weighed myself this morning and it was 179.8! Which means I only gained maybe 3 pounds on vacation. I was expecting more considering that we ate out at least once a day, followed by unhealthy convenience store snacks in the car. I tried to eat healthy at the beginning, but then I just said eff it, it’s vacation!

So here I am this morning, back to the daily grind. I’m getting ready to leave for the gym, plus I might go later so I can lose those couple vacation pounds. Hopefully I can upload some pics later! :)

Sorry in advance for my absence.

I am leaving tomorrow morning to go on vacation with my family. We’re going to South Dakota so hopefully there’s a lot of outdoor activities and hiking planned. I’ll be gone for about 10 days so I might be lacking in my posting on here. I’m going to try to eat pretty good while I’m gone, but it’s always harder on vacation. My goal is to at least stay in the 170s. I’ll update when I can, but I hope everyone has a great week! :)

What did you eat for breakfast?

My usual, coffee and a Luna bar.

How much water do you drink each day?

At least 4 16.9oz bottles of water. So about 68oz.

What is your current favorite workout?

Hmm, well I’m really starting to get into running.

How many calories do you eat each day?

I aim for at least 1200, but here lately I’ve been falling short :/

What are your favorite healthy snacks?

String cheese, wheat thins, peanut butter on toast, yogurt.

What do you usually eat for lunch?

Lately I’ve been hooked on hard boiled egg sandwiches. Sooo yummy!

What is your favourite body part to train?

Probably my legs.

Abs, just because I feel weird training them in the gym haha.

Any baked sweets, especially cupcakes. Which sucks cause I looove baking!

Nope. Multivitamins tend to hurt my tummy :(

Like restaurants? Maybe 2-3 times a month, but I try to avoid them.

No.

My mom. She’s the only one I can tell my weight to and she always encourages me.

Yes! I love going to the gym :)

How many hours of sleep do you get each night?

Anywhere from 6-10 hours, depending on when I fall asleep.

No. I used to have cheat days, but they would always turn into cheat weeks, haha.

Do you drink alcohol?

Very seldom. I’m underage until September!

Do you have a workout buddy?

No, except for when I go to zumba. Otherwise I just prefer to do my workouts alone.

My level of confidence. I am soooo much more confident than I was even a few pounds ago.

Hmm, I guess my workout yesterday. Which, I am still feeling today! lol
